The games have officially opened and China went all out to make this Olympics the best so far. The Jamaican contingent was officially welcomed to the village on Tuesday and PUMA also threw a welcome party on Tuesday evening. The open ceremony was amazing, or at least, thats what we heard. None of the teams had a chance to see the shows before the Olympics because we were at a different location for most of the time, but we were there for the torch lighting. Ricardo and his coach, Renee Schmidt arrived in the village on Wednesday morning after a 10 hour flight from Switzerland. We hit the velodrome that same afternoon to begin his daily regime leading up to his competition.
