‘These Development Meets are critical in assisting our athletes to prepare for a very busy racing calendar with over 20 local and international events starting with the Common Wealth Games in Australia in April. We are also encouraging riders under 19 to participate in these Development Meets to get a feel of riding on the velodrome as the Federation has plans to introduce cycling in schools this year”, added Joylene Griffiths, President of the Jamaica Cycling Federation.
Registration for the event will open at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday and the races will start at 1:00 p.m. The registration fee is $500.00 with cash prizes for the winners of all 14 races.
The other Development Meets will be held on March 11, April 8, July 8, August 19 and end with the National Track Championships on September 9 – 10, 2018.
