Jamaica Cycling Federation earns qualification for the 2019 Pan American Games in Peru

KINGSTON, JAMAICA//MAY 12, 2018: Jamaica’s Oshane Williams’ 49th place finish out of 99 starters at the Elite Pan American Road Cycling Champions held in San Juan, Argentina May 1-7, 2018 earned Jamaica a place in the 2019 Pan American Games Cycling Road Race in Peru.
This finish also placed Jamaica in fourth place behind Caribbean neighbours Cuba, Dominican Republic, and Guadeloupe.
His achievement created history for Jamaica, as it was the first time that a Jamaican cyclist was finishing an Elite Pan American Championship Road Race.
Oshane will start his 2020 Olympic bid with two UCI events, the COPA Cuba Cup in Havana on May 23-27 and Fire on Wheels event in Trinidad and Tobago June 2-3, 2018. In both events he will focus on the OMNIUM and the Scratch races.
